Our Vision: Loving, learning and thriving

Lanesend Primary School provides an inclusive and nurturing environment where every child is empowered to fulfil their potential. Through our core values of belonging, pride and respect, children thrive and celebrate their achievements, embracing challenges with courage and resilience, being encouraged to love learning. Children secure the knowledge and skills to become happy and successful life-long learners, contributing confidently to the world in which they live.

Our red squirrel, a cherished symbol of our beautiful Isle of Wight, holds in its arms the heart of learning - our acorn. This acorn represents our vision for Lanesend Primary School, the strength and the potential it holds within symbolising:

Growth and Potential:

The acorn represents small beginnings that lead to great achievements. Just as the acorn contains the potential to grow into a mighty oak tree, it reminds us that our children have the potential to grow and achieve significant results.

Strength and Resilience:

Acorns are symbols of strength and resilience, sprouting and thriving in the right conditions. Our belief is that our children can succeed and thrive whatever challenges they may face.

New Beginnings:

The acorn symbolises fresh starts and opportunities. Our vision is for every child to know the hope and promise of new beginnings and to take every positive opportunity courageously.

Our Values: Love learning – Belonging, Pride, Respect

Our core values underpin all aspects of teaching, learning and relationships at Lanesend Primary School:

  • Love Learning: We love learning and we are courageous. We are motivated and excited to discover and experience more so we grow our knowledge and skills and thrive.
