Cardboard Challenge 2019

Every year at Lanesend, our children take part in the cardboard challenge. We collect lots of cardboard, much of it donated from parents and staff etc.

This year was no exception as mountains of cardboard were transformed into amazing creations.

The children’s imaginations did not disappoint as they taped, glued and cut to make a range of objects big and small. There have been cars, bird feeders, buses, houses, rockets, masks, people, towers and castles just to name a few.

The children absolutely loved it from designing and making. I’m sure many of our families will have cardboard creations dotted around the house for weeks!

This is inspired by ‘Caine’s Arcade’.  In 2011, at the age of 9, Caine Monroy spent his summer vacation building an elaborate cardboard arcade in his dad’s used auto parts store in East Los Angeles.
